One developer, real problems, apps that actually help.
I'm a developer who traded the San Francisco Bay Area for three acres in northern Vermont. My family and I are slowly building it into a little hobby farm—right now it's two Nigerian Dwarf goats, four chickens, and ambitious plans for gardens, an orchard, and eventually some Valais Blacknose sheep. (Look them up. You'll understand.)
I got into development because I wanted to bring my own ideas to life without waiting on anyone else. That turned into a career, and eventually into Brechy LLC—where I build apps that actually help people, not just apps that exist.
Fledgery is built around one idea: independence, not compliance. Most chore apps treat kids like employees—do the task, get the reward. But that's not how the real world works. Fledgery uses natural consequences to help kids understand why these tasks matter. If you don't brush your teeth, you get cavities. If you don't put your clothes in the hamper, they don't get washed. It gives parents the structure to be consistent, and gives kids the space to learn from their choices—with a calm, neurodivergent-friendly design that works for all kinds of minds.
Steading is the app I've been wanting to build for years. My family and I had backyard chickens and hugelkultur gardens as renters, always knowing that one day we'd have our own land. When we finally got our 3 acres in Vermont, we had to build everything from the ground up—barns, fencing, pastures, the works. And as our plans grew, so did the chaos. Animal records in one app, garden plans on a website, tasks scattered across notes and spreadsheets. I looked for something that could handle all of it in one place. Nothing existed. So I built it. Steading brings everything together—animals, plants, harvests, tasks—because managing a property shouldn't require five different apps and a system that's impossible to remember.
I care deeply about the details: thoughtful design, intuitive interfaces, and privacy that actually means something. I don't think software should be confusing, and I don't think your data should be anyone's business but yours.
If you have an idea for an app and want help bringing it to life, I'd genuinely love to hear from you.
I don't build apps for the sake of building. Every project starts with a genuine need—something I or someone I know actually struggled with.
A beautiful, intuitive interface isn't extra—it's essential. Good design makes software easier to use, and easier to want to use.
I only collect what's absolutely necessary, and I'll never sell your data. Your information is yours. Full stop.
More features don't make a better app. I focus on what actually helps and leave out the rest.
I'm not in a race to ship. I'd rather get it right than get it out the door. You deserve apps that just work.
I'm not chasing trends or exits. I'm building a small, sustainable business—apps that stick around and keep getting better.
